Nutrition & Diet

At Delaware Juniors, our concerns are on the whole athlete instead of just the mechanics and skill development. We want to ensure that our players are provided with all of the tools needed for success, which include education on how what is put into their body will fuel them negatively or positively. On staff, we have a Licensed Nutritionist and Dietitian, who will work with our teams and athletes to provide the necessary education and, if desired, plan, to perform at their peak level of fitness.

Julie Wilkers is a registered and licensed dietitian and has been practicing as a clinical dietitian for the past 16 years. She will be graduating in 2023 as a Master's Level Dietitian. We are beyond excited to have Julie on board to assist us with our athletes!

A Note From Julie:

Youth and Sports

Our club stands apart from the rest, as we provide athletes with three separate opportunities to learn about the importance of nutrition and performance from a Registered Dietitian.  At the beginning of the season the dietitian will meet with each team to provide a nutrition focused discussion AND two additional consultations throughout the season.

Topics will include healthy hydration, fitting in fiber, nutrition 101, protein basics and more.  The dietitian will also provide a presentation showing our athletes how to make a quick and easy pre or post game snack!

*If the athlete has a specific need to meet with the dietitian a 1:1 virtual or in person consultation can be requested.
